Outback Trading Company, a maker of quality oilskin garments, needed a training video to inspire retailers to go the extra mile when selling Outback Garments. The theory was to teach them the intriguing history of oilskin cloth, such as its past use as sail cloth on ocean-going schooners, and instill the retailers with the excitement of the outdoor activities and weather where oilskin is widely used. Earthtalk conceived a documentary-style video with a gritty blues soundtrack to evoke the rugged practical uses of the garments. Earthtalk used special effects such as a weathered film look, slow motion and mono-tonal coloring to enhance the rural feeling conveyed in the video.
